Linda Collins
My own yoga practice started very gently after retirement. Gradually I gained mobility and noticed a decrease in arthritis pain at the same time. After several years trying classes at different places, I found Queen Street Yoga, and became more dedicated to consistent practice with the support I found there. In 2019, I was inspired to pursue yoga teacher training, hoping to share the skills and improvements I had found for myself with others. I completed The Branches YTT Program in 2020. Sharing my lived experience, I now passionately instruct older adults in gentle, accessible and chair yoga classes. In 2025, I completed my certification as a Personal Trainer through the YMCA Program. This knowledge can help me to advise folks about an overall exercise plan, and incorporate ways to improve functional mobility and gain strength. I am looking forward to exploring how to incorporate this training into yoga classes and beyond. I am grateful to mentors Leena Miller Cressman, Emma Dines, and the other wonderful teachers at TBY for their instruction, support, inspiration, and encouragement!
