FAQ
Yoga nidra’s gifts are abundant: better sleep, restored energy, calm presence, and heightened self-awareness, to start. Practiced regularly, it can help integrate emotions and memories, loosen the chains of negative habits, and allow us to live awake, with clear intention. Surprising to some, it can also accelerate learning processes, stimulate creativity, and uncover spiritual insights… the treasures reveal themselves exponentially with continued practice.
From a therapeutic perspective, yoga nidra has been reported to alleviate symptoms of insomnia, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue, and trauma. It is also a supportive adjunctive treatment for chronic pain, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and other chronic diseases. By coaxing the body into states of deep rest, natural healing processes seamlessly unfold. With its adaptable qualities, yoga nidra can be a lifelong companion for our health and well-being, no matter what we are going through.
The ability to revel in deep rest is a basic human need, yet one that our cultural environment has often robbed us of. Yoga nidra reclaims our ability to rest in spacious awareness and ultimately, come home to our hearts.
This training was created for yoga teachers, yoga therapists, healthcare providers, wellness professionals, and caregivers of any kind who would like to share yoga nidra with their students, clients, and loved ones.
It is also for people who simply want to deepen their personal yoga nidra practice. By learning how to harness and deliver yoga nidra’s various techniques, you will grow confident in self-guiding effective practices catered to your unique needs and intentions.
If you are taking this course for personal reasons, all assignments are optional—you simply won’t receive a certification at the end. That said, you are encouraged to engage with as many components as possible to get the most out of the course!

Yes! If you are a registered yoga therapist you can upload our completion certificate to the International Association of Yoga Therapists portal to receive 32 CE credits.
This training teaches you a ground-up, post-lineage approach to yoga nidra facilitation. It utilizes structural elements from Bihar, iRest, and Himalayan schools, distilling the purpose and effects behind each technique they offer. You will then be able to understand from a fundamental level how to apply them appropriately to nurture your students’ unique needs and intentions. Most importantly, it will bolster trauma-informed discernment which will allow you to confidently share yoga nidra to a wide range of audiences in an accessible and inclusive way, no matter the style.
The majority of the training is in-person, consisting of one 6-week course and 2 training weekends totalling 27.5 hours. There is also an option to attend them virtually over Zoom, with a tech assistant coordinating your participation. It is expected that you attend these sessions in full. However, all sessions will be recorded and available for you to review—should you miss a portion due to unforeseen circumstances, you can still practice and engage with the recorded content and complete your certification.
There are also 12.5 hours of asynchronous learning via on-demand practices, workbook readings and reflections, lectures, yoga nidra analyses, and practicum assignments. These are to be completed alongside the 6-week course, as well as before and after the training weekends (the exact homework timeline will be specified). Complete all components by the end of May 2026 to obtain your certification.
